Everyone who works with fabric knows that you have to minimise the cabbage - no, not the leafy green vegetable - but those bits of fabric left are cutting out whatever time on which you are working. Being a fan of patchwork, there are very few scraps leftover which cannot be used. Triangles go into one bag, strips of fabric into another, larger scraps sorted by colour into different bags. But, there are some scraps which are just too small to use. These go into another big bag.
This bag doesn't go into the rubbish to be consigned to landfill. No, this bag goes to a local charity, Phyliis Tuckwell Hospice. They sell fabric cabbage as 'rag' to raise funds for their charity. Just doing our bit.
