I'm going to widen the scope of this blog to some of my other fabric and art related activities as they seem to be taken up lots of time!
With my friend and former colleague, Irina, I'm running a series of workshops for fibre art and patchwork
Our last workshop involved making a bag for carrying around finished quilt blocks (until you have enough blocks to sew together the quilt top!). It was really popular and everyone finished their bag at the workshop. The bag has a pocket for a hard board (I used foam board) which keeps blocks flat and two flaps which are clipped together to keep the blocks in place. The quilting is executed using the orange peel design.
I'm thinking of adapting this for other bags - one for art supplies maybe? Here's some of the sample bag and a half-finished patchwork piece for the next bag.
